Officials Survey Flood-Affected Areas, Assess Relief Camps in Farrukhabad

Amidst the flood situation in Farrukhabad, District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Lathar and Superintendent of Police Aarti Singh jointly inspected flood-affected areas in the development block of Shamsabad, Tehsil Kaimganj. During their visit to Gram Samedhipur Chitar, the officials engaged directly with villagers impacted by the floods, listening to their concerns.

District Magistrate Dr. Lathar assured the villagers that the district administration is committed to providing all possible assistance during this time of disaster. He urged citizens to prioritize safety and seek shelter in the flood shelters established by the administration. He also clarified that after the floodwaters recede, affected families will be allocated leased land to provide them with permanent housing.

Stringent Inspection of Relief Camp Arrangements

Following this, the team assessed the flood shelter operating at the Shamsabad Grain Mandi. Feedback on the arrangements was obtained from the residents, and officials were given directives for necessary improvements. Fruits and biscuits were distributed to the children residing in the shelter.

The District Magistrate instructed that special attention be paid to the education of the children, stating that regular studies should be complemented with other activities for their intellectual development.

Emphasis on Enhancing Basic Amenities

Keeping the summer season in mind, the District Magistrate directed an increase in the availability of relief materials at the shelter. He emphasized that any negligence in providing essential basic facilities to the flood victims would not be tolerated.

Instructions were given to ensure the installation of mobile toilets in the camps, regular cleanliness, and the deployment of sufficient sanitation staff to maintain hygiene. Additionally, relevant officials were directed to continuously monitor water supply, food, and health services.

Present during this inspection campaign were Additional District Magistrate Finance and Revenue Arun Kumar Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kaimganj Abhishek Verma, Circle Officer Kaimganj Ajay Verma, District Basic Education Officer Vishwanath Pratap Singh, and Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Dheeraj Kumar, along with other departmental officials.

The administration has clarified that any negligence in relief operations will not be accepted and that ensuring the safety and immediate assistance of affected individuals is the district administration's top priority. All concerned officials have been instructed to perform their duties with sensitivity.
