Farrukhabad Intensifies Anti-Drug Campaign, District Magistrate Issues Directives
Farrukhabad launches a rigorous anti-drug campaign to curb illegal narcotics trade and promote public awareness, with the District Magistrate leading the charge.

District-Level Meeting Focuses on Drug Control and Awareness
A significant district-level meeting of the Narcotic Drugs Coordination (NCORD) centre was held in Farrukhabad to curb the illegal trade of psychotropic substances and narcotics, and to promote public awareness in this regard. The meeting, chaired by District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Garg, saw participation from officials of various departments who extensively deliberated on making anti-drug efforts in the district more effective.
The meeting particularly emphasized establishing effective control over the use of psychotropic substances and narcotics, reviewing enforcement actions, and further strengthening public awareness programs. The District Magistrate directed the concerned officials to ensure effective control over the use of psychotropic substances and narcotics in the district by all means.
'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' to be Launched in Educational Institutions
The District Magistrate specifically instructed the District Inspector of Schools to vigorously implement the 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan' (Drug-Free India Campaign) in all educational institutions, schools, colleges, committees, and public places within the district. Under this campaign, students will be made aware of the ill effects of drug abuse and motivated to stay away from it.
Review of Narcotic Cases and Enforcement Directives
While reviewing cases registered concerning narcotics, the District Magistrate directed the Police Department, Prosecution Department, and Excise Department to ensure effective enforcement actions and complete prosecution-related proceedings in a time-bound manner, so that culprits can be punished according to the law.
Joint Efforts for Awareness and Prevention
The Social Welfare Department has been assigned the responsibility of organizing various programs to make the public aware of the ill effects of narcotic substances in the district. In this regard, the Education Department has also been instructed to ensure that students in all schools and colleges of the district take an oath to stay away from drugs. Additionally, emphasis has been placed on increasing awareness among youth against drug abuse through creative activities like street plays, poster competitions, and speech competitions.
The Medical Department and Drug Administration Department have been instructed to regularly inspect all medical stores in the district. Emphasis has also been placed on taking necessary action to effectively control the illegal sale of banned and psychotropic drugs.
“Saving our youth from the grip of psychotropic substances and narcotics is the collective responsibility of society and the administration,” stated the District Magistrate at the conclusion of the meeting. He called upon all departments to work in a coordinated manner to make Farrukhabad a drug-free district.
