Warrant Accused Arrested After Six Years

In a significant operation, the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Farrukhabad Junction has apprehended Neeloo Kumar, a warrant accused who had been absconding for the past six years. The accused, identified as approximately 35 years old, hails from Bair village in the Shivrajpur police station area of Kanpur Nagar.

Multiple Cases Against the Accused

According to police records, Neeloo Kumar faces a total of four cases registered at the GRP Farrukhabad police station under charges of theft and burglary. The court had repeatedly issued summons and warrants due to his involvement in these cases, but they remained unserved.

Years on the Run and Court Proceedings

The accused, Neeloo Kumar, had been evading his appearance in court for an extended period, leading to the continuous issuance of warrants against him. To escape arrest, he remained hidden from the police, frequently changing his location, which posed a challenge for law enforcement.

Considering his persistent absence and fugitive status, the court recognized the gravity of the situation and issued a proclamation order under Section 82 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). This section allows the court to order the attachment of property and publicly declare an accused a proclaimed offender if they fail to appear, marking a critical stage in the arrest process.

Tip-Off Leads to Arrest

On the evening of October 4, 2026, an active GRP police team received crucial information from a reliable informant. The informant revealed that Neeloo Kumar, who had been absconding for a long time, was currently present within Farrukhabad city.

Upon receiving this credible intelligence, the police team decided to act immediately without any delay. They initiated a cordon and search operation to verify the information and locate the accused. Around 7:30 PM, police established a cordon near the Karba Barfi Cold Storage and successfully apprehended Neeloo Kumar.

Legal Proceedings Post-Arrest

Following the completion of the arrest, the Government Railway Police took Neeloo Kumar into custody. Subsequently, the GRP has initiated the necessary legal procedures to present the accused before the relevant court.

During the court appearance, the prosecution will present details of the cases registered against the accused and the duration of his abscondment, based on which the court will decide on further course of action. Police view this arrest as a significant success, not only as a decisive step in a protracted legal battle but also as a stern warning to other absconding criminals.

Further detailed judicial proceedings will now be conducted based on the cases registered against the accused, which will include examining witness testimonies and other evidence.
