Extensive Preparations Underway for Ganesh Idol Immersion

Farrukhabad | September 25, 2026 | The district administration is fully mobilized to finalize preparations for the Ganesh idol immersion ceremony. On Friday, District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Lather and Superintendent of Police Aarti Singh conducted a thorough inspection of the immersion site at Farrukhabad's Panchal Ghat.

During the inspection, officials meticulously reviewed the arrangements made for the convenience and safety of devotees along the Ganga riverbank. The district administration has taken stringent steps to ensure that the Ganesh immersion festival concludes peacefully and securely.

Sanitation and Lighting Directives Issued

District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Lather issued clear directives to the concerned departmental officials, emphasizing the need to ensure adequate sanitation, proper lighting, barricading, and availability of purified drinking water at Panchal Ghat. He stressed that idol immersion should only take place at designated and safe locations.

Continuous monitoring of the ghat has been ordered to prevent devotees from venturing into deep waters. Efforts will be made to ensure the safety of all individuals involved in the immersion process and to prevent any untoward incidents. Furthermore, the District Magistrate directed that traffic flow in the ghat area should remain smooth and that no disorder should occur.

Focus on Environmental Protection and Public Appeal

He also highlighted the importance of environmental protection, expecting officials to take necessary measures to keep the Ganga River clean and reduce water pollution. The administration has appealed to the public to use only the designated immersion sites and cooperate in maintaining the cleanliness of the Ganga.

Emphasis on Women's Safety and Crowd Control

Reviewing the security arrangements, Superintendent of Police Aarti Singh ordered police officials to ensure effective crowd management and smooth traffic flow. She specifically directed focus on the safety of female devotees and the deployment of adequate police personnel at the ghat. To ensure the safety of women, special female police officers will be deployed to provide assistance as needed.

Traffic police have also been instructed to arrange for alternative routes to avoid traffic jams on roads leading to the immersion site and to inform the public accordingly. Instructions have also been given to monitor anti-social elements in crowded areas and to report any suspicious activity to senior officials immediately.

Stricter Vigilance Against Safety Rule Violations

During the inspection, other relevant officials present included SDM Sadar Sanjay Kumar, SDM Judicial Dinesh Pandey, Municipal Corporation Executive Officer Vinod Kumar, and Naib Tehsildar Hardipack. The administration has also clarified that strict vigilance will be maintained against those violating safety rules during immersion to prevent any unpleasant incidents. Legal action will be taken against those who fail to comply with safety regulations.
