Flood Crisis in Rajepur

The Ganga River's rising water levels have created a severe flood situation in the Rajepur development block of Assembly constituency Amritpur. Amidst this disaster, District Panchayat Administrator Representative Sachin Yadav visited the flood-affected village of Jithouli.

He understood the problems faced by the victims and distributed immediate relief materials. Sachin Yadav assured the villagers that mere temporary aid is no longer sufficient, and a permanent solution to this recurring issue is essential. Local residents lamented that every monsoon, the Ganga's water level dangerously increases, inundating villages.

This disruption not only hinders transportation but also causes significant damage to food supplies, fodder for livestock, and standing crops. This year's floods have once again devastated daily life in Rajepur and Shamshabad.

Moving Towards a Permanent Solution

After listening to the villagers' plight, Sachin Yadav emphasized the need to go beyond distributing relief materials and work towards a lasting solution. His primary goal is to ensure that this is the final year residents of Rajepur and Shamshabad endure such devastating floods.

Providing detailed information about the project, he announced plans to commence the construction of a robust embankment from Panchal Ghat to Dhai Ghat as soon as the monsoon season concludes. This embankment will be built on both banks of the Ganga River once the necessary government approvals are secured.

This crucial project is expected to provide flood protection to the region, significantly reducing the widespread devastation and loss of life and property experienced annually. Sachin Yadav assured the villagers that upon completion of the embankment project, they would be permanently freed from future flood-related crises.

Future Preparedness and Assurance

He also pledged that affected families would receive all possible assistance during this difficult flood period. Furthermore, effective advocacy will be pursued at higher levels to ensure residents do not have to face the annual calamity of floods.

The local community is optimistic about this ambitious embankment project and hopes for its swift implementation. This initiative aims to offer long-term security and peace of mind to the residents living along the Ganga.
