Review Meeting on Educational Quality and Facilities

At the Farrukhabad Collectorate Auditorium in Fatehgarh, District Magistrate Dr. Ankur Lathar chaired a crucial review meeting with officials from the Basic Education Department. The meeting intensely discussed the progress of various schemes related to academic quality, basic facilities, and student enrollment in primary and upper primary schools.

The District Magistrate emphasized that providing quality education to children is the administration's top priority and any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated. He stressed the importance of regular teacher attendance, increasing student enrollment, maintaining consistency in teaching, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Mid-Day Meal scheme.

He directed officials to ensure that the benefits of all government-run schemes reach the targeted and eligible students with complete transparency. Essential materials such as free textbooks, uniforms, shoes, socks, and school bags must be provided to students on time. For schools with unsatisfactory student attendance, measures were to be devised to personally contact guardians and motivate them to send their children to school regularly.

Emphasis was also placed on improving sanitation, availability of clean drinking water, and the condition of toilets in schools. The District Magistrate highlighted that ensuring quality education in primary schools is the utmost priority for the district administration.

Quality Education in Primary Schools is Paramount

Dr. Ankur Lathar, in his address, reiterated that providing quality education to children in primary schools is the district administration's paramount priority. He stated that there can be no compromise on educational quality, and every child should have the opportunity to learn according to their potential. To achieve this, he encouraged teachers to adopt the latest teaching methodologies and focus on the individual needs of the children.

To boost student enrollment, he directed collaboration with Gram Pradhans, local bodies, and self-help groups to raise awareness about the importance of education among all sections of society. Discussions also included launching special campaigns to bring children from particularly backward and disadvantaged communities to school.

Kalyankalp Scheme Standards Are Mandatory

Any negligence in meeting the 19 standard points set under the Kalyankalp Scheme will be taken very seriously. The District Magistrate warned officials to show sensitivity and promptness in the implementation of this scheme. The scheme aims to ensure basic facilities in schools such as clean drinking water, functional toilets, electricity, playgrounds, libraries, and safe buildings.

He stressed that these standards must be met not just on paper, but on the ground. Clear instructions were given to complete the critical task of cleaning water tank facilities within three days and submit a report, indicating a special focus on sanitation. The District Magistrate issued clear orders to complete the demolition of dilapidated and unusable buildings within the next week, a significant step to ensure student safety. Operating classes in old, unsafe buildings poses a severe risk to children. He emphasized the immediate identification and prioritized demolition of such structures.

Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of maintaining a disciplined and safe educational environment, which includes not only physical safety but also promoting mutual respect and tolerance among students. Instructions were given to regularly assess students' learning levels to ensure they are progressing in line with the curriculum.

Inspection Process and Accountability Fixed

The District Magistrate directed for a more effective regular inspection process of schools to genuinely assess academic quality. He specifically ordered the immediate provision of painting and other essential teaching resources in PM Shri Schools, aiming to make schools attractive and motivating for students.

The Basic Education Officer was instructed to immediately resolve any shortcomings found during inspections. If Block Education Officers are found to be negligent in their duties, strict action will be taken against them as per rules, ensuring accountability and encouraging officials to be more vigilant.

Coordination, Team Spirit, and Future Plans

Present at the review meeting were Chief Development Officer Vinod Kumar Gaur, Project Director DRDA Kapil Kumar, District Basic Education Officer Vishwanath Pratap Singh, and other senior officials and staff. The District Magistrate stated that the progress of education-related schemes will be continuously reviewed in the future to bring qualitative improvements to the education system.

He emphasized that the ultimate goal of the administration is to provide an excellent educational environment for every child, where all basic facilities are available. He encouraged all departmental officials to work with team spirit and achieve targets within the set deadlines. This approach will ensure that different departments collaborate towards the shared goal of improving the education system, so that every child in Farrukhabad can receive a better education.
