Review of Rural Development and Sanitation Initiatives

Farrukhabad District Magistrate (DM) Dr. Ankur Lathar conducted a tour of Block Rajepur in Tehsil Amritpur to review rural development works. During his visit, he inspected the newly constructed integrated solid waste management center in village Sherakhar Kotia and issued directives to strengthen sanitation systems.

The DM meticulously examined the operational efficiency of the solid waste management center. He placed particular emphasis on organizing the proper collection, segregation, and disposal of waste. Dr. Lathar stressed the critical importance of managing wet and dry waste according to regulations for maintaining cleanliness in rural areas.

He instructed officials to ensure the maximum utilization of available resources at the center and to raise awareness among villagers regarding sanitation. The center's operational aspects, including waste collection points, composting units, and processing machinery, were closely assessed. Ensuring the regular functioning of the center and addressing any operational bottlenecks were key focus areas.

Panchayat Secretariats to Become Centers for Grievance Redressal

In the subsequent phase of his inspection, the District Magistrate visited village Panchayat Kamaluddinpur, where he conducted a surprise inspection of the Gram Panchayat Secretariat. He obtained detailed information regarding the maintenance of records and the various functions being carried out at the secretariat.

Dr. Lathar issued clear directives that Gram Panchayat Secretariats should be developed as effective hubs for the swift resolution of villagers' problems and for disseminating information about government schemes. He stated that benefits of government schemes must be ensured for eligible beneficiaries in a timely and fully transparent manner, preventing them from facing any undue difficulties.

The District Magistrate instructed the concerned officials and staff to give top priority to basic amenities and public welfare-related works in the Gram Panchayats. The focus was on streamlining service delivery and ensuring that citizen-centric initiatives are implemented efficiently.

Emphasis on Quality Development and Regular Monitoring

The District Magistrate underscored that maintaining quality in development works, in line with the government's vision, is the responsibility of every official. He warned that regular monitoring of sanitation campaigns and development works being undertaken in the Gram Panchayats will be conducted.

Issuing a stern warning to perform their duties with utmost seriousness, he stated that failure to do so would hinder the provision of better facilities to the public. He emphasized that accountability would be fixed for any lapses or inefficiencies observed during future inspections.

In conclusion, the District Magistrate ordered the immediate implementation of all the directives issued during the inspection. He reiterated that strengthening sanitation and public facilities in rural areas is the administration's top priority, and work is continuously underway to achieve this goal.
