The Cliff News | Farrukhabad | August 27, 2026

On the occasion of the Raksha Bandhan festival, a large crowd of passengers was observed at the Farrukhabad रोडवेज bus station. Commuters began arriving early Thursday morning, prompting the department to decide on operating additional buses.

To ensure a smooth journey for passengers, a total of 115 buses from the Farrukhabad depot have been deployed on various routes. According to depot officials, buses are operating regularly to major cities such as Delhi, Agra, Bareilly, Kanpur, Hardoi, and Shahjahanpur. Additionally, special arrangements have been made for nearby local routes like Kaimganj, Aliganj, and Etah, to prevent any inconvenience for passengers reaching their destinations.

Free Travel Facility for Women

As per the directives of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, bus travel for women has been made entirely free on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. This facility will be effective from Thursday midnight until August 29 midnight. Following this announcement, there was a significant increase in the number of female passengers at the bus station.

Passenger Complaints and Official Response

However, during this period, some passengers also registered complaints regarding a bus heading to Bareilly. Passengers alleged that despite sufficient space in the bus, the driver did not stop for them, forcing them to wait at the bus station. In response, the responsible official from the depot stated that they have no information about such an incident. The official also clarified that they are personally present at the bus station, instructing staff to prioritize passenger convenience to avoid any difficulties.

Security and Crowd Management

Given the increasing crowd, Dayanand Patel, the in-charge of the रोडवेज bus station post located in the Qadiri Gate police station area, took command of the security arrangements with police personnel. The police focused on maintaining smooth traffic, controlling crowds, and ensuring the safety of passengers at the bus station. Throughout the day, there was continuous movement and hustle at the bus station, with many passengers seen boarding and alighting from bus windows.

Depot official Rajesh Kumar stated that additional buses are arranged immediately on routes where a higher number of passengers are found. The रोडवेज department is continuously monitoring bus operations and security arrangements to ensure passengers do not face any trouble during this special festive occasion.
