Farmers' Union Seeks Resolution on Electricity Pole Installation

Officials from the Bharatiya Kisan Union Mahashakti visited the Kamalganj police station in Farrukhabad district on August 10, 2026. They presented their concerns regarding a local issue involving the installation of electricity poles in a nearby village.

The meeting, convened at the behest of Union District President Manoj Yadav and under the direction of National President Thakur Dharmendra Singh, emphasized the need for farmer consent. It was clarified that electricity poles would only be erected after obtaining a consent letter from the farmers and orders from the relevant senior officials.

Consent and Due Process Mandated

It was explicitly stated that poles cannot be forcibly installed in agricultural fields against the will or without the consent of any farmer. Any arrangement for power lines requires proper authorization. The authorities assured that strict legal action would be taken against anyone attempting to violate this process or resort to coercion.

The meeting underscored the importance of farmer consent and adherence to regulations. Key attendees included Journalist Baba Hanuman Das, National Organizing Minister; Vedprakash Shukla, National Secretary; Abhishek Yadav, Kanpur Divisional President; Madan Chand, Junior Engineer from the Electricity Department; Advocate Avadhkishor Gupta; and District President Manoj Yadav, along with several farmer activists.

Farmers articulated their objections and concerns during the meeting. The Station House Officer, referencing the rules, assured that no farmer would be subjected to injustice. This incident highlights the critical need for local community consent and compliance with government regulations in development projects.

The electricity department officials were reminded that work must proceed with consideration for farmers' interests and by following the proper procedures, otherwise, such protests and legal interventions are likely to persist.
