Farmer Dies After Venomous Insect Bite, Family Plunged into Grief

Tragedy Strikes in Khimsepur

Farrukhabad, August 16, 2026 - A profound sorrow has befallen the family of a 42-year-old farmer in Khimsepur, Farrukhabad district, who succumbed to a bite from a venomous insect. Ramesh Chandra, son of the late Deviram and a resident of Shivaji Nagar, was cultivating land on a sharecropping basis in the fields of Sher Bahadur and resided at the tube well on the premises.

Discovery and Attempted Treatment

The incident, which occurred on Saturday, cast a pall of grief over the entire family. The tragedy came to light on Sunday morning when Ramesh Chandra was found unconscious on a cot inside the tube well. It is suspected that a venomous insect likely bit him on the neck, causing him to lose consciousness. Around 9 AM, Harsh, son of Ramesh Chandra's brother Devendra, arrived at the tube well with food and discovered Ramesh Chandra in an unresponsive state.

Urgent Medical Intervention and Confirmation of Death

Harsh immediately alerted his family, who rushed Ramesh Chandra home and initiated treatment efforts. The family promptly called for a 108 ambulance, and Ramesh Chandra was transported to the Community Health Center. Upon preliminary examination, Dr. Sunny Mishra, the physician on duty, declared Ramesh Chandra dead. According to the doctor, the toxicity from the insect bite was so severe that his life could not be saved.

Family Background and Administrative Action

Ramesh Chandra was the eldest of four brothers, including Umesh and Devendra. He had a married daughter, Archana. Tragically, his wife, Lakshmi, had passed away much earlier, and he had been living with his brothers, maintaining a joint family structure. This event has dealt a significant blow to the family, who relied on each other for support.

Investigation Underway

Upon receiving information about the incident, local administration became active. Regional revenue officer Ankit Kumar has been informed of the unfortunate event. Furthermore, the local police station has also been notified to ascertain the exact cause of death and complete the necessary legal procedures. Station House Officer/DSP Amod Kumar Singh stated that outpost in-charge Jasveer Singh inspected the scene, completed the 'panchnama' (inquest report), and has sent the body for post-mortem examination. The post-mortem report will confirm the precise cause of death, which is crucial for further proceedings.
