Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh | July 25, 2026 - A 38-year-old farmer, identified as Kuldeep Chauhan, has allegedly taken his own life by hanging in Farrukhabad district, reportedly due to family discord. The incident has cast a pall of grief over the family.

Incident Details and Family's Shock

The incident occurred in Brahm (Brown) village under the Mau Darwaza police station jurisdiction, where Chauhan resided with his family and was engaged in farming. According to preliminary information, Kuldeep Chauhan hanged himself in his room late at night following a family dispute. His family discovered him in the morning, immediately took him down, and rushed him to the local Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

Upon arrival at the hospital, doctors examined him and pronounced him dead. The family, including his wife Priyanka, son Abhi, daughter Tanya, and brother Pradeep, have gathered at the hospital, deeply distraught. They are currently preparing for his funeral rites, while the entire village is in mourning.

Family Discord Cited as Motive, Police Investigation Underway

The primary cause of this tragic step is believed to be a significant family dispute. Kuldeep Chauhan, son of Viraj Singh Chauhan, was the sole breadwinner for his family through his farming endeavors. Initial investigations and family statements suggest that a profound disagreement led him to take this drastic action. He reportedly prepared the noose with a fan in his room during the night to end his life.

Ajab Singh, the Station House Officer of Mau Darwaza, confirmed the incident. He stated that the case appears to be a suicide driven by family disputes. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination after completion of inquest proceedings. The actual cause of death will be clarified after the autopsy report is received.

The police have confirmed that no written complaint has been filed by the family yet. Investigators are conducting a thorough probe to ascertain the exact reasons behind the suicide and will take further action if any other facts emerge. The police have also inspected the scene of the incident.
