Campaign for Farmer Welfare Launched in Bhind

Prioritizing the welfare of farmers, a significant campaign named "Agri-Tech Registration, PACS Membership, and Advance Fertilizer Procurement" has commenced in Bhind district under the guidance of Collector Kirodi Lal Meena. This initiative will be conducted across the district from August 20, 2026, to September 15, 2026.

The primary objective of this campaign is to encourage the balanced and judicious use of fertilizers by farmers for the Rabi season 2026-27. It also aims to ensure the advance availability of fertilizers in line with crop requirements. In a meeting held at the Collectorate auditorium, Collector Meena directed all relevant officials, including bank managers, assistant society managers, institution computer operators, and agriculture department officials, to execute this campaign on a war footing.

Focus on Balanced Fertilizer Use and Farmer Awareness

During the meeting, critical issues such as PACS membership, KCC saturation, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, recovery of Non-Performing Assets (NPAs), fertilizer storage and distribution, CM Helpline, and loan disbursement were discussed in detail. Emphasis was placed on creating awareness among farmers regarding the balanced use of fertilizers.

Stressing that the campaign should not be limited to mere registration, the Collector urged officials to provide practical knowledge of the facilities available through the Agri-Tech and E-Vikas systems to the farmers. He also instructed that farmers be made aware of the adverse effects of unbalanced and excessive fertilizer use. The campaign will ensure that farmers receive fertilizers according to their crop needs and can benefit from generating e-tokens and other features of the Agri-Tech portal.

Maximizing PACS Membership and Ensuring Fertilizer Availability

Collector Meena emphasized the goal of enrolling a maximum number of farmers as members through the PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Societies). He clarified that there is sufficient stock of fertilizers available in the district, and the need is only to streamline the system for their decentralized distribution.

Accountability and Strict Action Mandated

Daily progress reports of the campaign are to be submitted. The Collector issued a stern warning that any negligence or undue delay in the implementation of this campaign at any level will not be tolerated. In such cases, the responsibility of the concerned officer or employee will be fixed, and strict action will be taken.

The successful implementation of this campaign is expected to play a significant role in improving the agricultural productivity and economic condition of the farmers in the district.
