Fake Educational Documents Racket Busted

A gang involved in preparing fake educational documents has been exposed in Bareilly. The Baradari police station arrested Pradeep Kumar Gangwar, a resident of Anand Vihar, who was operating an institute under the name Destiny Education Center in the city.

The accused was apprehended by the police near the railway ground behind Wonder Hospital while allegedly attempting to defraud someone. A large number of fake marksheets, educational certificates, and counterfeit seals of various institutions were recovered from his possession. The case originated from a complaint filed by Rahul Singh, a resident of Sangrur, Punjab.

Victim's Allegations and Police Investigation

The victim alleged that Pradeep Kumar Gangwar extorted fifty thousand rupees from him in exchange for admission to a BA program. Pradeep not only took the money for admission but also provided a fake three-year marksheet within a six-month period. When the victim demanded his money back, the accused allegedly blocked his mobile number.

Upon receiving the complaint, the police initiated an investigation. Based on CDR and other electronic evidence, the police laid a trap and successfully apprehended the accused, Pradeep Kumar Gangwar. During interrogation, Pradeep confessed to running an illegal business of providing fake marksheets and certificates in collusion with Ramcharan, a resident of Noida.

He further revealed that they used to create marksheets for various universities and defraud students under the guise of private admissions. The police seized a total of twenty-one fake marksheets, six certificates, eleven counterfeit seals, two mobile phones, an inkpad, ₹8,970 in cash, and a TVS Jupiter scooter from the accused. These fake seals included names of various educational institutions and universities.

Further Action and Search for Accomplices

A special team formed under the leadership of Station House Officer of Baradari, Bijendra Singh, carried out this operation. The police have registered a case against Pradeep Kumar Gangwar under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (BNS).

Given the seriousness of the case, the police are now searching for Pradeep's other accomplices, especially his alleged associate Ramcharan. Based on the recovered items, the police are completing further legal procedures and attempting to dismantle the entire network of this gang. This revelation has sent a ripple of fear among the operators of several fake educational institutions operating in the region.
