ENT Specialist's Absence Causes Patient Distress at Farrukhabad Lohia Hospital

Patients seeking treatment from distant areas at the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Combined Medical Hospital in Farrukhabad are facing significant difficulties due to the absence of the Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialist. Many patients from rural areas are forced to return home without treatment as the doctor is often unavailable.

Patients allege that the specialist doctor does not adhere to a regular duty schedule, exacerbating their health problems. Staff at the hospital entrance frequently turn away patients, citing reasons such as the doctor being in court or on night duty. This consistent unavailability is leading to growing anger among patients within the hospital premises.

Local Demand for Improved Doctor Presence

Local residents have urged the district administration to ensure the presence of doctors at the hospital. Their plea aims to guarantee timely medical facilities for underprivileged patients who depend on the public healthcare system.

BJP Leader Raises Concerns Over ENT Specialist Shortage

Taking cognizance of this serious issue, Rahul Rathore, Media In-charge for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the district, met with the Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) to request intervention. The CMS acknowledged that the ENT department has only one doctor, who faces challenges in being present at the hospital due to other administrative or judicial responsibilities. He identified the doctor's absence as the primary cause of patient suffering.

Call for Administrative Action Amidst Irregularity

Rahul Rathore implored the administration to address the matter immediately and take strict action against those responsible. He stated that such negligence by a few doctors negatively impacts the government's image and is unacceptable.

Patients and their families have warned of escalating protests if the doctor's regular duty is not ensured. Currently, patients arriving at the hospital for treatment are left with only disappointment.
