Enforcement Campaign Against Illicit Liquor Launched in Farrukhabad

A strict enforcement campaign against the manufacture, sale, and transportation of illicit liquor is underway in the Farrukhabad district of Uttar Pradesh. As part of this initiative, on Friday, July 25, 2026, Excise Inspector Zone-2, Sudhanshu Choudhary, and his staff conducted an effective raid in the village of Shyamnagar in the Kaimganj area.

Seizure of Illicit Liquor and Registration of Case

During this operation, the excise department team successfully recovered 16 liters of illicit raw liquor. In connection with this seizure, a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Excise Act. This action was carried out under the supervision of District Excise Officer, Mr. G.P. Gupta, in compliance with the orders of the Excise Commissioner, Uttar Pradesh, and the directives of the District Magistrate, Farrukhabad, Dr. Ankur Lathar.

Continued Vigilance and Inspections

This enforcement campaign is being continuously conducted with the aim of curbing any activity related to illicit liquor in the district. Along with the seizure of illicit raw liquor, the excise department team also conducted a thorough inspection of the country liquor shop and composite shop located in Barjhala. During this inspection, the stock registers, online payment systems, sales through POS machines, and the functionality of CCTV cameras were meticulously examined. Additionally, the canteens of the country liquor shops were also rigorously checked.

Strict Instructions Issued to Licensees

During the inspection, clear instructions were given to the concerned licensees to keep all their records updated and to ensure full compliance with the rules and standards set by the government. The liquor available at the shops was cross-referenced with the relevant records. The department has warned of strict action if any irregularities are found. The excise officials have directed for vigilant monitoring of suspicious activities in the area and to continue effective action against illicit liquor.
