ED Raids Azam Khan's Properties in Jauhar University Funding Probe

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out significant action on Wednesday, raiding multiple locations associated with senior Samajwadi Party leader and former minister Azam Khan. Simultaneous raids were conducted by ED teams at around 10 places across Delhi, Rampur, and Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh.

This operation is being conducted under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) to investigate the financial activities of Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar University and the associated Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar Trust. The investigating agency is primarily scrutinizing allegations of financial irregularities, questionable funding, and money transactions within the university and trust.

ED teams are searching the university campus in Rampur, as well as the residences of office bearers connected to the trust. Initial reports indicate that crucial documents and digital evidence are being collected to ascertain the sources and utilization of funds for these financial activities.
