Narmada College Launches Anti-Drug Campaign
At Prime Minister's College of Excellence, Government Narmada College, Narmadapuram, a special anti-drug campaign was organized as part of the 'Seva Sankalp' initiative on October 3, 2026. The program aimed to inform students about the severe consequences of drug abuse and ensure their active participation in building a drug-free society.
Youth as Nation's Strength
The chief speaker, Dr. Ira Verma, addressed the youth, emphasizing that "Youth power is the nation's greatest strength." She urged them to focus on health, education, and a bright future.
Dr. Verma clarified that only drug-free youth can effectively contribute to building a healthy and empowered society. She inspired the students present to fulfill their social responsibility in making society, the state, and the nation drug-free.
Pledge and Awareness Rally
The event commenced with the college principal, Dr. Kamal Wadhwa, administering the anti-drug pledge to all students. Following this, an awareness rally was conducted from the college premises, where students raised slogans related to drug-free living to educate the public.
The objective of this rally was to deliver a strong message against drug abuse within the community.
Workshop Offers Guidance
In a subsequent one-day workshop, Dr. K.G. Mishra, the 'Seva Sankalp' coordinator, provided practical advice to students on staying away from drugs. He encouraged the youth to work towards nation-building.
The workshop was moderated by Mr. Mayank Raikwar, who recited poetry on drug-free living, fostering enthusiasm among students. Dr. Aarti Singh also highlighted the ill effects of drug abuse.
Student Participation and Impact
Numerous students, including Rohit Malviya, Shivam Yadav, Shivam Dewang, Lalit Gaur, Shivani Yadav, Akash Yadav, Raksha Yadav, Satyam Rajput, Tanishk Gaur, and Praveen Gaur, participated with great enthusiasm. This campaign aimed to convey a crucial message to the youth: not only to abstain from drugs themselves but also to raise awareness among those around them.
The college administration described this campaign as a meaningful step towards social reform.
