Divine Light Illuminates Prison During Lord Krishna's Birth Katha in Tendui Village

Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh | September 4, 2026 - The Janaki Kunj temple complex in Tendui village resonated with devotion on Friday as thousands of devotees gathered for the third day of the Shrimad Bhagwat Mahapuran Katha. The highlight was the miraculous and divine story of Lord Krishna's birth.

The chief narrator, Pundit Pawan Ji Maharaj, captivated the audience as he recounted the divine descent of Lord Krishna. As the time for the Lord's earthly manifestation approached, nature itself rejoiced, with rivers becoming crystal clear, lotuses blooming in lakes, and forests filling with the fragrance of colorful flowers.

The atmosphere became serene, filled with cool, perfumed breezes. Celestial beings, sages, Kinnars, and Gandharvas began singing auspicious songs, and a shower of flowers rained down from the heavens. Observing the radiant and divine smile on Devaki's face, King Kansa realized that the cause of his destruction had taken refuge in Devaki's womb, embodied by Lord Vishnu himself.

Lord Krishna Appears in Prison Amidst Divine Radiance

The Katha narrator further described the moment of Lord Krishna's birth within the prison walls. As the divine child entered the world, the entire prison was illuminated by a celestial light. Vasudev witnessed Lord Vishnu, with four arms, seated before him in His infant form.

The divine child was adorned with a conch, discus, mace, and lotus in His hands. With the Shrivatsa mark on His chest, the Kaustubh jewel around His neck, and clad in yellow silk (pitambar), Lord Krishna's dark, cloud-like complexion was exceptionally captivating.

Parents' Prayer Leads to Divine Transformation

Overwhelmed by the vision of the divine form, Vasudev and Devaki were moved to tears. Mother Devaki prayed for protection from Kansa's terror and implored the Lord to conceal His four-armed divinity and appear as an ordinary infant.

This poignant and emotional segment of the Katha brought tears of reverence to the eyes of the devotees, and the entire pandal erupted with chants of 'Jai Shri Krishna'.

International Child Saint Sanjay Ji Maharaj, the chief patron of the Shrimad Bhagwat Katha, stated that simply listening to the Bhagwat Katha brings blessings to human life and eradicates sins accumulated over lifetimes. He emphasized the Katha's importance in alleviating all forms of suffering.

The Katha concluded with the Aarti (worship ceremony) of the Lord performed by Amar Nath Tiwari and Janaki Devi. Dignitaries present included former BJP District President Balendu Mani Tripathi, Rajya Sabha MP representative Dhanendra Kumar Pandey, former Gram Pradhan Rajesh Mishra, Ashok Tripathi, and Navin Chand Tripathi, among others.

The event, held at the Shri Shri 1008 Janaki Kunj Mandir, saw enthusiastic participation from devotees who had traveled from far and wide.
