The Cliff News | Bhopal | August 11, 2026 - Madhya Pradesh Police's emergency service, 'Dial-112', has once again proven to be a lifesaver in a moment of crisis. In the districts of Khandwa and Satna, Dial-112 teams showcased their promptness, sensitivity, and humanitarian approach. They not only prevented a young man from taking a suicidal step but also ensured the immediate hospitalisation and care of a newborn baby found abandoned in the bushes.

These incidents highlight that the Dial-112 service is not merely limited to swift police assistance but is also playing a vital role in saving lives for citizens in need.

Attempted Suicide Averted in Khandwa

In the Ashaapur outpost of Harsud police station in Khandwa district, a young man attempted to commit suicide by going onto a railway bridge. Upon receiving information, Dial-112 team members, Constable Raghuveer Jatav and Pilot Fareed, rushed to the scene without delay.

At the time, the young man was sitting on the railway tracks, engaged in a video call and speaking about ending his life. Constable Raghuveer Jatav, demonstrating immense patience and sensitivity, engaged the youth in dialogue and provided continuous counselling. Due to the police team's humane efforts and effective persuasion, the young man calmed down and abandoned his suicidal thoughts.

During questioning, the youth revealed that he was suffering from mental stress due to family disputes, which led him to consider this drastic step.

Abandoned Newborn Given a New Lease on Life in Satna

In a similar incident, in the Chitrakoot police station area of Satna district, local residents alerted the Dial-112 team about the sound of a newborn baby crying from the bushes near Akshyavat Tirahe. According to the information, an unknown person had abandoned the newborn there.

Upon receiving the information, Assistant Sub-Inspector Yogendra Mishra, Constable Ajay Devre, and Pilot Birendra Kumar Pal, understanding the gravity of the situation, immediately informed the Station House Officer. Without wasting any time, the newborn was transported to Majhgawan Government Hospital in the Dial-112 vehicle.

The newborn received primary treatment at the hospital. Subsequently, given the infant's critical condition, he was referred to the District Hospital Satna for advanced medical care. The primary objective of Madhya Pradesh Police's Dial-112 service is to reach citizens in emergencies in the shortest possible time and ensure their safety and protection. These incidents have once again proven that Dial-112 teams are fulfilling their responsibilities with utmost sensitivity and promptness in all circumstances.
