‘Dhurandhar 3’ Buzz Intensifies After Producer Hints At New Surprise For Fans

Speculation around Dhurandhar 3 has intensified after co-producer Jyoti Deshpande hinted that the blockbuster action franchise may not be over yet.

The comments have sparked excitement among fans following the massive success of the first two Dhurandhar films, which reportedly earned more than Rs 3,000 crore globally.

Top Summary

  • What happened: Producer Jyoti Deshpande hinted at a possible continuation of the Dhurandhar franchise.
  • Why it matters now: Fans are speculating about a third installment after the massive success of the first two films.
  • What changes for people: The franchise could expand further into one of Bollywood’s biggest action universes.
  • Who is affected: Ranveer Singh fans, the Dhurandhar team and Bollywood’s action film market.

Speaking in a recent interview, Deshpande reportedly said the makers were “not done yet” with the Dhurandhar universe and teased a possible “surprise” later this year.

Her remarks immediately triggered online speculation about whether a third film is already in development.

The franchise stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role and has emerged as one of Bollywood’s biggest modern action franchises.

The original Dhurandhar, released in December 2025, reportedly grossed more than Rs 1,350 crore worldwide.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film followed an undercover Indian intelligence operative infiltrating Karachi’s criminal underworld to dismantle a terror network allegedly backed by the ISI.

The movie drew inspiration from several real-life events, including the IC-814 hijacking, the 2001 Indian Parliament attack and the Mumbai terror attacks.

Its sequel, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, released in March 2026 and reportedly continued the story of agent Hamza Ali Mazari as he pursued revenge linked to the 26/11 attacks.

The sequel further strengthened the franchise’s box office dominance and audience following.

Meanwhile, actress Yami Gautam recently praised director Aditya Dhar’s humility despite the films’ massive success.

In an interview, she reportedly said that neither success nor setbacks had changed them personally and credited spirituality and gratitude for keeping them grounded.

The Dhurandhar franchise also features a large ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and R. Madhavan.

Industry experts believe Bollywood is increasingly focusing on franchise-driven storytelling, especially in the action and spy genres, following the commercial success of cinematic universes.

If officially announced, Dhurandhar 3 could become one of the most anticipated Hindi releases in the coming years.

Bottom line

The Dhurandhar franchise appears far from over as fresh hints from the producers have reignited speculation about a third installment. After delivering massive box office numbers and building a strong fanbase, the series is now emerging as one of Bollywood’s biggest action universes.
