Devotional Atmosphere Prevails at Dhaunsa Dham Temple for Nandotsav

Jaitpur: September 6, 2026 - The historic Dhaunsa Dham Temple in Jaitpur was filled with devotion on the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, hosting a grand 'Dadhikhana' or Nandotsav. A large number of devotees and youth participated in this traditional festival, their enthusiasm amplified by chants of 'Duhai Baba Nand Ki, Jai Kanhaiyalal Ki'.

Senior Supreme Court Advocate and daughter of Bundelkhand, Mrs. Seema Patnaha Singh Rajput, was the chief guest for the auspicious event. During the celebration, troupes of 'Govindas' completed the 'Dahi Handi' ceremony in Zamindari Mohalla, Raghunath Ji Temple, and Dyodhipura before energetically breaking pots alongside hundreds of youths at the Dhaunsa Dham Temple premises.

The temple's Mahant, Shri Shyama Sharan Ji Devacharya Maharaj, further enhanced the festivities by showering devotees and 'Gwalas' (cowherd boys) with coconuts, jaggery, clothes, gem necklaces, sweets, utensils, and cash, which were joyfully collected.

Mini Wrestling Tournament Showcases Youthful Talent

Following the 'Matki Phod' event, a mini wrestling tournament (Dangal) was organized to encourage children and youth. Local wrestlers displayed their impressive techniques and skills in this engaging event.

Chief Guest Mrs. Seema Patnaha Singh Rajput boosted the morale of the wrestlers, and Mahant Maharaj felicitated all participants and winning wrestlers.

Importance of Traditional Festivals Emphasized

Addressing the attendees, Senior Advocate Seema Patnaha Singh Rajput stated that such traditional festivals and religious gatherings promote social harmony and unity. She added that events like wrestling in rural areas provide an excellent platform for youth and children to hone their sporting talents.

Mrs. Rajput lauded the grand celebration at the historic Dhaunsa Dham Temple and extended her best wishes to the residents of the region.

Several dignitaries, including UP District President Mahendra Dwivedi, Ramesh Mishra, Yogendra Mishra, Kamta Prasad Tiwari, Rambharose, Har Prasad, Mool Chand, and a large number of devotees, were present at the program.
