Dhanush–Mrunal Thakur Dating Rumours Resurface After Instagram Exchange, but Fans Are Furious About Something Else

Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur’s dating rumours have been circulating for a long time, and a recent Instagram interaction between the two has once again sparked fresh speculation. But this time, the buzz isn’t just about emojis or a sweet comment—it’s about a brewing controversy over music plagiarism.

Mrunal’s New Film Teaser Draws Mixed Reactions

Mrunal Thakur recently unveiled the announcement teaser of her upcoming romantic drama Do Deewane Seher Mein, co-starring Siddhant Chaturvedi. The teaser sets the tone for the film and features theme music composed by Anurag Saikia.

Shortly after she posted the teaser on Instagram, Dhanush dropped a supportive comment:
“Looks and sounds good.”

Mrunal responded with a heart and sunflower emoji, triggering renewed chatter about their rumoured relationship—even though the two have never confirmed anything publicly.

Teaser BGM Sparks Controversy: ‘Sounds Like the BGM from 3

But the spotlight quickly shifted from their comment exchange to the teaser’s background score.

Many viewers felt the BGM sounded uncannily similar to the emotional score from Dhanush’s 2012 Tamil film 3, composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Fans began posting side-by-side comparisons, calling out the striking resemblance.

Social media reactions ranged from amused to furious:

  • “File a copyright claim on this. Just because she’s your GF doesn’t mean they can copy the BGM of your movie.”

  • “Sounds exactly like ‘Kannazhaga’ from 3.”

As the debate grew louder, #Dhanush and #MrunalThakur began trending again—though not for the reasons their fans expected.

Silence From All Sides

Despite the noise, the makers of Do Deewane Seher Mein have not issued any clarification regarding the BGM’s similarity to the 3 soundtrack.

Neither the production house nor composer Anurag Saikia has commented on whether the resemblance was intentional, coincidental, or merely a fan-driven comparison.

Dhanush and Mrunal have also remained silent—not addressing either the renewed dating rumours or the music plagiarism allegations.

Their silence has only intensified online speculation.

Mrunal Earlier Called the Rumours ‘Funny’

This is not the first time the duo has been linked. In August 2025, their interactions had set off widespread dating speculations.

During an interview with Only Kollywood, Mrunal responded to the gossip, saying:

“Dhanush is just a good friend to me.”

She admitted being aware of the speculation and said she found the rumours “funny” the first time she read them.
Dhanush, on the other hand, has never publicly addressed the chatter around their relationship.
