Surprise Inspection in Devri Wards
On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, the Chief Municipal Officer (CMO) of Devri Municipality, Manohar Bijhwar, accompanied by Sub-Engineer Khemariya, conducted a surprise inspection of Subhash Ward, Patel Ward, and Prithvi Ward. During the visit, officials assessed the prevalent issues across various wards and engaged directly with local citizens to listen to their concerns.
The inspection focused on sanitation, the functionality of streetlights, and the condition of roads and drains. The CMO closely observed these aspects, noting the muddy conditions on several unpaved roads due to recent rainfall, which caused commuting difficulties for residents.
Citizens Voice Concerns, Assurances Given
During their ward visits, officials engaged in open dialogue with local residents, understanding their problems related to basic amenities. Citizens primarily raised issues concerning roads, drains, sanitation, and a lack of streetlights. CMO Manohar Bijhwar assured the assembled citizens that their problems would be addressed on a priority basis and resolved promptly.
The CMO instructed the present Sub-Engineer Khemariya to ensure the prioritized resolution of all issues pertaining to the wards. He emphasized that providing basic facilities to the town's residents is the municipality's highest priority and that any negligence in this regard would not be tolerated.
Plans for Paved Roads and Drainage Development
Observing the issues of unpaved roads and waterlogging, the Municipal Administration has assured that paved road and drain construction work will be undertaken as needed. Officials have also issued directives to assess the current condition of the respective areas and outline the necessary construction works.
This initiative by the Municipal officials to visit wards unexpectedly, engage directly with citizens, and observe problems on-site has instilled hope among the local populace that their long-standing basic issues will soon be resolved.
