Devotees Offer Nirvana Laddus in Etawah on Lord Parshvanath's Nirvana Day
Jain devotees in Etawah celebrated Lord Parshvanath's Nirvana Day by offering special 'Nirvana Laddus' to symbolize liberation from the cycle of birth and death.

Nirvana Mahotsav Celebrated with Devotion
The Nirvana Mahotsav of the 23rd Tirthankara, Lord Parshvanath, was observed with profound reverence and devotion across various Jain temples in Etawah on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. On this sacred occasion, followers of Jainism offered special 'Nirvana Laddus' before the idol of Lord Parshvanath, symbolizing his liberation from the cycle of birth and death and attainment of Moksha (salvation).
At the Shri Parshvanath Digambar Jain Mandir Atishay Kshetra Nasiyan Ji, a continuous stream of men, women, and children from the Jain community arrived from early morning. Men of the community and committee members, dressed in saffron attire, performed the consecration and Shanti Dhara (peace ritual) of the deity. Amidst devotional bhajans and prayers by the Rajesh and Music Group, the Nirvana Laddu was offered at the feet of Lord Parshvanath at 10 AM. A large number of devotees participated in the collective worship.
Significance of the Nirvana Laddu
According to Jain tradition, the Nirvana Laddu offered on Lord Parshvanath's Moksha Kalyanak Day symbolizes the soul's liberation from the cycle of birth and death and its attainment of salvation. This festival commemorates the Lord's destruction of all karmas and his subsequent attainment of eternal bliss.
Present at the event were Nasiyan Ji Committee President Sanju Jain Thekedar, General Secretary Dharmendra Jain, Vice President Ajit Babu Jain, Vishwa Jain Sangathan President Akash Deep Jain, Jain Milan Mahila Shakha General Secretary Lovely Jain, along with D.K. Jain, Pradeep Jain, Mohit Jain, Shreyansh Jain, Raju Jain, Khamod Jain, Rahul Jain, and many other devotees.

Meanwhile, at the Shri Jain Mandir in Lalpura, the consecration and Shanti Dhara rituals were completed at 7 AM under the guidance of Muni Shri 108 Vishalya Sagar Maharaj. The Nishank Jain family was honored with the privilege of performing the Shanti Dhara. Subsequently, the Kalyan Mandir Vidhan was organized.
The Dr. Arvind Jain family was bestowed with the honor of being the Saudharm Indra, while Piyush Jain, Vijay Jain, Ritesh Jain, Bunty Banaras Jain, and others had the opportunity to be other Indras. A program of devotional prayers and songs was also held.
The privilege of offering the Nirvana Laddu to Lord Parshvanath was granted to the Ramesh Jain and Kuldeep Jain families. On this occasion, Muni Shri Vishalya Sagar Maharaj delivered a discourse, stating that Lord Parshvanath attained Moksha from the Sammed Shikharji mountain in Jharkhand. He further explained that this is why the festival is celebrated with immense devotion and reverence in Jain temples nationwide, including Sammed Shikharji. The Muni highlighted that the Lord's Nirvana signifies freedom from the cycle of birth and death and all karmas.
The Varshayog Samiti President Sanju Jain Thekedar, General Secretary Bunty Jain, Treasurer Ritesh Jain, along with other officials and devotees, also participated in the event. Similar offerings of Nirvana Laddus to Lord Parshvanath were made with full devotion by devotees in Jain temples located in Naya Shahar, Karanpura, Chhapai, Sarai Sheikh, and SD Field in the city.
