Devotees Arrive in Ajnar for Sawan Month Rituals

Ajnar, Mahoba | August 10, 2026 - The holy month of Sawan saw a significant influx of Shiva devotees arriving in Ajnar, located in the Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh. Enthusiastic youth from the local Jatera locality and followers of Bhole Baba created a devotional atmosphere upon their arrival with 'Dhak Kanwad'.

Warm Welcome and Service for Pilgrims

Villagers extended a hearty welcome to the arriving pilgrims. A well-known social worker and devotee of Bhole Baba, Arvind Kushwaha, accorded special respect to the Shiva devotees. He personally washed the feet of all kanwariyas (pilgrims carrying water offerings) and offered them monetary gifts according to his capacity.

Kushwaha stated that this act of service is akin to worshipping Lord Shiva himself.

Service to Devotees Hailed as Pious Act

Arvind Kushwaha emphasized that serving kanwariyas and Shiva devotees is an extremely virtuous deed, equivalent to serving Lord Shiva directly. He highlighted the special significance of honouring Shiva devotees during the month of Sawan. He further extended his wishes for happiness, peace, and prosperity for all devotees.

Chants of 'Har Har Mahadev' and 'Jai Bholenath' by the assembled devotees and villagers filled the air with spirituality. This event serves as a beautiful example of the religious importance of Sawan month and community harmony.

Significance of Sawan Month

The month of Sawan, also known as Shravan Maas, is considered one of the most sacred months dedicated to Lord Shiva in the Hindu lunisolar calendar. During this period, devotees perform Jal Abhishek, Rudra Abhishek, and various rituals to appease Lord Shiva.

In 2026, Shravan Maas in North India commenced on July 30 and will conclude on August 28. This month is regarded as a time for spiritual peace and fulfillment of desires for devotees.
