Deputy Collector Inspects Fair Price Shops in Guna, Reviews Distribution Systems

Ration Distribution Under Public Distribution System Reviewed

In the Raghogarh tehsil of Guna district, Deputy Collector Ms. Mahima Choudhary conducted an inspection of various fair price shops on Thursday. The aim was to review the arrangements for distributing rations to eligible beneficiaries under the Public Distribution System (PDS).

During the inspection, she gathered detailed information about the current status of ration distribution, the facilities provided to beneficiaries, and the progress of the e-KYC process. The Deputy Collector directly interacted with beneficiaries present at the shops to understand any challenges they might be facing in receiving their rations.

Two Months' Ration Distribution System Assessed

It was noted during the inspection that fair price shops are currently distributing rations for both August and September. Deputy Collector Choudhary reviewed the distribution system to ensure that eligible beneficiaries are receiving their allocated quota of food grains.

Emphasis was placed on ensuring transparency and adherence to established standards throughout this process. The administration aims to confirm that the food grain distribution system benefits every eligible beneficiary smoothly.

Challenges with Pending e-KYC Highlighted

A significant issue emerged during the inspection: beneficiaries whose e-KYC (electronic Know Your Customer) process is incomplete are facing difficulties in receiving their rations. Acknowledging this problem, Deputy Collector Choudhary urged the concerned beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC process without delay.

She stated that completing e-KYC will remove obstacles in receiving benefits under the PDS, allowing them to access their entitlements smoothly. Providing information on the necessary procedures was also emphasized.

Administration Urges Beneficiaries to Complete e-KYC

Through these inspections, the administration sought to understand the ground reality of the Public Distribution System and gather direct feedback from beneficiaries. The primary objective is to ensure that the government's food grain distribution system benefits all eligible beneficiaries effectively.

While the distribution is largely successful for most families, guidance is being provided to those facing issues due to pending e-KYC. The administration appeals to all beneficiaries to complete their e-KYC procedures promptly to avoid future problems in obtaining rations.
