Demand for Bikaner-Bilaspur Express Halt in Narmadapuram

Rajya Sabha MP Maya Narolia met with Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at Parliament House and held a detailed discussion on various railway development projects in the Narmadapuram region and across Madhya Pradesh. The primary aim of this meeting was to expand rail facilities and enhance passenger convenience in the region.

During the meeting, extensive deliberations took place on several crucial issues directly impacting better rail connectivity and travel experience for the region's citizens. MP Narolia specifically raised the demand for a halt of train number 20845/46 (Bikaner-Bilaspur Express) at the Narmadapuram Railway Station. This demand was also strongly presented by the Pujya Sindhi Panchayat, Narmadapuram, highlighting the need for rail services in the area.

The MP stated that this halt would provide residents of the region with continuous and convenient travel access on this important rail route. The Bikaner-Bilaspur Express, which establishes a vital north-south connection, would benefit not only local passengers but also other travelers passing through the region with a halt at Narmadapuram. She also referenced the memorandum submitted by the Pujya Sindhi Panchayat, detailing the reasons for the necessity of the halt.

Modernization and Security of Railway Stations Emphasized

Discussions also covered the modernization, renovation, and strengthening of public amenities at railway stations in the Narmadapuram region under the 'Amrit Bharat Station Scheme'. This scheme aims to equip railway stations across the country with world-class facilities, including improved waiting rooms, clean restrooms, catering services, and accessible transit for passengers.

The modernization of stations in the Narmadapuram region will strengthen the area's railway infrastructure and enhance the passenger experience. Furthermore, the MP informed the Railway Minister about the illegal vending and associated anti-social criminal activities operating at Itarsi Junction, the largest railway junction in Central India.

Given Itarsi Junction's status as a major hub with high passenger traffic, such illegal activities pose a threat to passenger safety and convenience. The MP urged for appropriate directives to be issued to ensure passenger safety and maintain order within railway premises. She also pointed out that illegal vendors often create disorder and raise concerns about the potential for criminal activities to flourish.

Railway Minister Assures Action

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw listened to all the issues raised by the MP with sensitivity and promptness. He assured that positive action would be taken soon on these public interest demands.

The government is committed to the modernization of railways and the enhancement of passenger facilities, and necessary improvements will be made in the Narmadapuram region as well.
