In a startling turn of events, the Delhi Police on Monday arrested the father of a 20-year-old Delhi University student for allegedly staging a fake acid attack on his daughter. The arrest came a day after the student claimed that three men had thrown acid on her near Laxmibai College in north-west Delhi, leaving her with burn injuries.

According to police officials, the father confessed during interrogation that his daughter had splashed toilet cleaner on her hands to simulate acid burns. The student had accused three men — Jitender, Ishan, and Arman — of carrying out the alleged attack.

Sexual Assault Case Emerges Against Student’s Father

As the investigation progressed, police discovered that Jitender’s wife had filed a sexual assault and blackmail complaint against the student’s father just three days before the alleged acid attack.

In her complaint, lodged at the Bhalswa Dairy Police Station, the woman alleged that she worked at the man’s socks manufacturing factory between 2021 and 2024, during which he allegedly sexually assaulted her and threatened her using private photos and videos.

“The complainant made serious allegations of sexual assault and blackmail against the student’s father. That case is being investigated separately,” a senior police officer confirmed.
