Delhi cafe murder: Suspect posts video confession, claims killing over personal grudge

What happened:
A 24-year-old man was shot dead at a café in northeast Delhi’s Maujpur area, with the accused later releasing a video confession on social media admitting to the killing.

Who is involved:
The victim, identified as Faizan (24), was a resident of the Welcome area in northeast Delhi. The accused, whose video surfaced on Instagram, claimed sole responsibility for the murder.

What the accused said:
In a video posted from the Instagram handle moinqureshiii_, the suspect said he killed Faizan due to a personal grudge stemming from an incident four months earlier.
“He had slapped me four months ago, so I took his life,” the accused said, denying any involvement of his family or friends and rejecting allegations that the murder was linked to money.

Conflicting claims:
Faizan’s brother, Salman, alleged that the killing was connected to a financial dispute. He claimed Faizan had taken a loan and was assaulted by the accused and his father when he failed to repay it.
Salman said a complaint had earlier been filed but no action was taken.

Details of the incident:
The shooting occurred around 10:28 pm on Thursday at Mr King Lounge and Cafe in Maujpur. Faizan was found critically injured and rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

According to family members, Faizan was hit by three bullets — one in the head and two in the chest — and also had an injury on his hand.

Police action:
Delhi Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act. Multiple teams have been formed to trace and arrest the accused.
