Devotion and Art Converge in Damoh: Grand State-Level Aarti Dance Competition Held
Damoh | October 11, 2026 The state-level Aarti Dance Competition, organized by the Shree 1008 Parshwanath Digambar Jain Mandir, Jabalpur Naka Trust in Damoh, proved to be a magnificent confluence of devotion and art. The competition, which extended late into the night, captivated the audience with mesmerizing performances by talented artists.
The event commenced with the gracious presence of former minister Jayant Kumar Malaiya, along with Temple President R.K. Jain, General Secretary Vinay Malaiya, Roopchand Jain, H.R. Pandey, and Preeti Gautam. The dignitaries formally inaugurated the competition by lighting a lamp before a portrait of Lord Bade Baba.
Following the inauguration, Ajay Jain Jhapan presented a musical Bhaktambar recitation, and a Mangalacharan was performed under the coordination of Mukesh Singhai, further enhancing the spiritual ambiance.
Inauguration of New Women's Wing Officials
In the second phase of the competition, Kavita Jain administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly formed Vama Mahila Mandal (Women's Wing) of the Jabalpur Naka Jain Mandir. Information regarding the temple's activities was also shared on this occasion.
During the third phase, coordinator Sudhir Vidyarthi highlighted the various activities undertaken by the temple, keeping the attendees informed about the temple's ongoing endeavors.
Artists Showcase Their Talent
Under the skillful direction of Jyoti Jain, a series of solo and group dance competitions commenced. A total of eight groups and twenty solo dancers showcased their artistic prowess. Participants delivered outstanding performances across various categories, earning applause from the audience.
Judges Select Top Performers
The impartial judging panel comprised Amar Singh Rajput, Manav Bajaj, Sumit Aarjav, Kavita Jain, and Pallavi Jain. Based on their expert evaluations, the artists who delivered the most exceptional performances were selected.
Award Distribution and Felicitation
In the senior category of the solo dance competition, Anushree Jain secured the first position, while Rajni Jain came second, and Rani Jain third. In the junior category, Avika Jain clinched the first position, Arna Jain took second, and Vidushi Jain secured third place.
In the group dance category, Palandi Mandir Mahila Mandal emerged as the first winner, followed by Jinsharanam Mahila Mandal in second place, and Bhavna Bhakti Group Sagar in third.
Outstanding solo dancers were honored with the title of 'Nritya Upadhi' (Dance Title), and group dance participants received the 'Kalashri Upadhi' (Artistic Laureate Title).
All participants and members of the judging panel were felicitated with mementos and certificates. The successful execution of the event was significantly contributed to by Dr. R.K. Jain, Manoj Jain, Sanjay Jain, Saurabh Vidyarthi, Surabhit Jain, Surakshit Jain, and other members of the temple committee.
Event in-charge Sudhir Vidyarthi expressed his gratitude to everyone involved and conveyed his hope for similar cooperation in future endeavors. This competition underscored the deep-rooted interest in art and spirituality among the people of Damoh.
