Voter List Update Campaign Underway in Damoh

A significant meeting was held in Damoh, chaired by Chief Election Officer Sanjeev Kumar Jha, with representatives of state-recognized political parties. The meeting focused on a special campaign to update the voter list and include new eligible voters.

The primary objective of this initiative is to incorporate the names of eligible citizens missed in the photo electoral roll and to make the voter list flawless. Key political parties including the Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party, Aam Aadmi Party, and Communist Party of India were represented.

Ensuring Comprehensive Voter Registration

Chief Election Officer Mr. Jha clarified that this special campaign is continuously running in all districts of the state. He urged political party representatives to actively cooperate through their Booth Level Agents.

"The primary goal of this campaign is to include all citizens who have so far been left out of registration or who have become eligible to vote for the first time," he emphasized.

Process for New Voter Registration

It was informed during the meeting that Form-6 is mandatory for registering new voters. Citizens eligible to vote for the first time can complete their registration by filling out this form.

Applicants must submit their required documents and information as per the established rules. It was also clarified that after submitting Form-6, applicants will not need to submit any separate declaration form.

Administrative Efforts for Campaign Success

To ensure the success of this special voter registration campaign, officials at the SDM and Tehsildar levels are providing continuous guidance and assistance. The District Election Officer is also monitoring the process.

The administration's main effort is to ensure that no eligible citizen is deprived of their right to vote. The meeting was also attended by Joint Chief Election Officer R.P.S. Jadon, Deputy Chief Election Officers Sanjay Srivastava, Rajesh Yadav, and Virendra Singh.
