Legal Awareness Camp Held in Ghat Pipariya, Damoh

Damoh | September 26, 2026 | In a significant legal awareness camp organized under the auspices of the National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, the village of Ghat Pipariya in Damoh district saw strong participation. The event, conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur, was graced by Mr. Subhash Solanki, Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority and Principal District Judge, as the chief guest.

Concerns Raised Over Rising Drug Abuse

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Solanki expressed grave concern over the escalating trend of drug abuse in society, particularly among the youth. He highlighted that drug addiction has become a prevalent fashion, weakening individuals and the entire community both mentally and economically.

"Most criminal activities are perpetrated under the influence of drugs, as it completely erodes a person's ability to make sound decisions," Mr. Solanki stated.

He urged the villagers to actively strive towards making their families drug-free, aiming to build a society where disputes are minimized. He also underscored the necessity of creating a healthy, educated, and value-oriented environment for children.

Legal Aid and Welfare Schemes Highlighted

Mr. Rajneesh Chaurasia, District Legal Aid Officer, provided detailed information to the attendees about their legal rights. He clarified that all citizens are equal in the eyes of the law and that free legal counsel and other legal assistance are available to eligible citizens.

The camp also disseminated information about various public utility schemes, including Lok Adalats, the Victim Compensation Scheme, Mediation Scheme, and several welfare programs run by NALSA. Crucial helpline numbers were shared to facilitate timely assistance for those in need.

Villagers Pledge for a Healthy Society

The event was attended by a large number of villagers, including the Gram Sarpanch, Secretary, Anganwadi workers, and assistants. They collectively took a pledge to unite against drug abuse and work towards building a healthy society.
