District-Level Competition Success

Students from PM Shri School in Damoh district, Madhya Pradesh, demonstrated exceptional singing talent at the district-level group singing competition. They achieved a first position in their folk song presentation and a third position in group singing, significantly boosting cultural activities within the school and the local community.

The competition was organized on October 15, 2014, at the Vidya Vatika campus in Damoh. The event was hosted by the Rani Damayanti and Atal branches of Bharat Vikas Parishad. Ravi Goswami was the program coordinator, and the judging panel comprised Dr. Aruna Ujjainkar, Dr. Shyam Sundar Shukla, Ravi Varman, and Khemchand Athya.

Students Showcase Cultural Flair

Six talented students from PM Shri School – Prachi Raikwar, Palak Rajak, Natasha Rajak, Babita Rajak, Anjali Yadav, and Preeti Khangar – performed under the expert guidance of Mrs. Premalta Upadhyay. They presented a patriotic Hindi song, 'Chalo Jawano, Badho Jawano, Maa Ne Hamein Pukara Hai', and a Sanskrit song, 'Jayatu Janani Janmabhumi, Punya Bhuvanam Bharatamm'.

Through these songs, the students expressed their patriotism and respect for their cultural heritage. Their performances were not only appreciated but also highlighted their dedication and practice. Mrs. Premalta Upadhyay's continuous encouragement and training prepared the students to showcase their talent on stage, proving their multifaceted abilities in various singing genres.

Captivating Folk Song Performance

Notably, the students' rendition of the folk song 'Mori naram kalai gade kakna, piya kaisein dulau ras ke bijna' mesmerized the audience. This song, offering a glimpse into rural life and traditional culture, touched the hearts of the listeners.

This very performance earned them the first position in the folk song competition, reflecting their deep understanding of local folk culture and exceptional singing prowess. Furthermore, their third-place finish in the group singing competition marked their distinct presence across the district. This repeated success is a moment of pride for the school, demonstrating the students' capability to excel in diverse musical styles.

The school fraternity extended best wishes for the students' bright future and deemed the event a significant step in the local cultural development. This competition played a crucial role in promoting music and arts in Damoh, with expectations for more such events in the future.
