Damoh Public Grievance Redressal Session Sees Swift Action

In a public grievance redressal session held in Damoh district, Collector Pratap Narayan Yadav seriously heard 319 applications submitted by the public. He instructed officials from relevant departments to ensure prompt and satisfactory resolution of each issue, so that citizens receive justice.

Hostel Relocation Approved Amidst Student Concerns

During the grievance session, students from the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Hostel in Damoh expressed significant concerns about their living conditions. They reported persistent waterlogging and dampness on the ground floor of the hostel building, negatively impacting their health and studies. Recognizing the students' valid demand, the Collector immediately granted permission for the relocation of the hostel building.

Aid and Justice for Differently-Abled Individuals

The Collector also ensured swift action on matters pertaining to differently-abled individuals. He directed the concerned officials to provide necessary assistance to them. This includes orders to begin the process of sending them to special camps for immediate medical examinations and to provide assistive devices like prosthetics and wheelchairs as per their needs.

Elderly Women Reclaim Maintenance Rights

Two elderly women, aged between 70 and 75, approached the grievance redressal session seeking justice after reporting mistreatment and pressure to transfer property within their families. They stated that their own sons were forcing them out of their homes and pressuring them to transfer property into their names. Given the seriousness of the matter, the Collector deemed it a grave case, immediately informed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), and ordered the registration of a case. Notices have been issued to the concerned sons under the Maintenance Act, ensuring the elderly women receive their rightful dues and can live with dignity. This action is expected to inspire others in similar situations.
