Damoh Police Launch Intensive Campaign

In a bid to curb criminal activities and strengthen law and order in Damoh district, the police have initiated a special combing patrol campaign. Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Anand Kaladgi and guidance from Additional Superintendent of Police Sujit Singh Bhadauria, sub-divisional officers and station in-charges conducted intensive checking operations throughout the night.

The primary objective of this campaign was to take effective action against absconding warrant holders, anti-social elements, and illegal drug traffickers. During the operation, 22 permanent warrant holders were apprehended across the district and subsequently presented in court. Furthermore, the police successfully executed 27 arrest warrants and 28 bailable warrants.

Crackdown on Criminals and Drug Traffickers

The physical verification of the activities of 38 notorious criminals and 25 surveillance criminals was conducted, and necessary directives were issued to them. The Patera police station, in particular, took significant action against drug trafficking, leading to the arrest of two individuals on October 11, 2026. Approximately 1 kilogram of ganja, valued at an estimated 15,000 rupees, was recovered from them.

A case has been registered against the accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the contraband. In preventative measures to maintain peace, three individuals were acted upon under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) due to apprehension of breach of peace. Additionally, a total of 21 individuals were bound over in 15 different cases to prevent any disturbance.

Continued Commitment to Public Safety

Superintendent of Police Anand Kaladgi emphasized that the police's campaign against the drug mafia and absconding criminals will continue unabated. He assured that the police administration will maintain similar effective patrolling and checking operations in the future to enhance the sense of security among the public.
