Government Operation Urged for Damoh Medical College
Damoh MLA Jayant Malaiya has raised a significant demand regarding the operation of the newly constructed medical college for the region's development. He met with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and submitted a letter urging that the institution be operated entirely at the government level, rather than through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
The MLA believes this medical college will prove to be a crucial cornerstone for the region. Mr. Malaiya stated that an amount of ₹355 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of the medical college. Additionally, administrative approval for crores of rupees has been granted for furniture, equipment, and biomedical machinery. This institution, being developed on 12.14 hectares of land, will not only make healthcare services accessible to local people but will also open new avenues for employment and medical education for the youth.
Other Development Proposals Emphasized
Beyond the medical college, MLA Jayant Malaiya has also put forth several other proposals to improve the city's infrastructure. He demanded the widening of routes from Subhash Colony to Jabalpur Naka and Sitabadi to Hata Naka, aimed at reducing traffic pressure in the city. Furthermore, the construction of a new Geeta Bhavan has been requested for the organization of social and cultural events.
Agricultural and Irrigation Projects Mentioned
While presenting his demands, the MLA also highlighted irrigation projects in areas such as Sathdaru, Seetangar, Panchmanagar, and Sajhali. He emphasized that the prosperity of farmers is extremely important for the district's economy.
The MLA has urged the Chief Minister to prioritize and complete all these crucial tasks related to health, education, and infrastructure for the holistic development of Damoh. This step will prove to be a milestone in establishing Damoh as a strong and developed district in the future.
