Congress Demonstrates in Guna Over Student Grievances and Rahul Gandhi's Arrest

The Cliff News | Guna | July 22, 2026. In Guna, Madhya Pradesh, the District Congress Committee, along with the City Committee Blocks 1 and 2, staged a strong protest at Hanuman Chowk on Monday night. The demonstration primarily aimed to support the ongoing student movement against irregularities in various examinations and to vehemently oppose the arrest of Lok Sabha's Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi.

Party workers took to the streets in large numbers, acting on the directives of State Congress President Jeetu Patwari and former cabinet minister Jaivardhan Singh. The protestors levied serious accusations against the central government, claiming it was jeopardizing the future of students. They highlighted how the alleged rigging in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) and other examinations has shattered the dreams of millions of youth across the country.

The Congress party alleges that when Rahul Gandhi raised these issues in Parliament, his subsequent arrest constituted an 'attack on democracy'. The party strongly condemned this action, deeming it a violation of democratic values.

Key Congress Leaders Participate in Protest

Prominent leaders who participated in the protest included District Organisation General Secretary Pankaj Kaneria, Councilor Tarun Sen, Scheduled Caste Congress District President Bhagwan Singh Ahirwar, and NSUI District President Faleshu Raj Sisodia. The joint leadership of the protest was spearheaded by Block Congress Committee City 1 President Ranveer Singh Kushwah and City 2 President Halim Gazi.

Several senior Congress leaders, including former Block President Deepesh Patni, Block General Secretary Asim Bhatnagar, Mandal Presidents Aneesh and Aryan Sendo, were also present. Youth Congress District General Secretaries Nabal Damle and Sahdev Balmiki also marked their attendance.

Congress leaders clarified that any compromise on the future of students or suppression of democratic rights would not be tolerated. They expressed their resolve to continue their struggle for justice and the protection of democracy. Through this protest, the Guna Congress reaffirmed its active engagement and seriousness regarding public issues.
