Congress Demonstrates in Mehgaon, Submits Memorandum Against Civic Problems and 'Purification' Incident
The Congress party staged a protest in Mehgaon and surrounding areas, raising concerns over pervasive fundamental civic issues. The demonstration also condemned a recent incident of 'stage purification' following an event attended by Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge in Haldwani, Uttarakhand.
Organized by the Block Congress Committee Mehgaon, a large rally was held to convey the workers' voices to the state and national leadership. A memorandum was submitted in the names of the President of India and the Governor.
Addressing the protest, District Congress President Ramasesh Baghel issued a warning to the local Nagar Parishad and administration. He stated that the common citizens of the Mehgaon region are still struggling for basic amenities. Baghel warned that if local officials and employees do not resolve these issues promptly, the Congress party will not hesitate to launch a fierce public movement to fight for the people's rights.
Congress Reiterates Commitment to Public Issues
Devendra Singh Nigam, President of Block Congress Mehgaon, reaffirmed the party's commitment to championing public interest issues. He emphasized that the Congress party has always been dedicated to protecting the rights of the common man, the poor, the elderly, women, youth, and students.
Nigam assured that the party will continue to actively participate in protests and sincerely strive to resolve every small and big problem in the region.
Participation and Demands of Workers
Hundreds of senior leaders, local representatives, and citizens participated in the protest. During the demonstration, workers chanted slogans against administrative neglect and demanded immediate action.
