Congress Holds Protest in Bhadohi

Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh - Congress party members in Bhadohi district staged a strong protest on Tuesday against an alleged casteist "purification ritual" involving their national president, Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, in Haldwani. They also demonstrated against the FIR registered against the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Shri Rahul Gandhi.

Despite heavy rainfall, Congress workers, led by District Congress Committee President Shri Wasim Ansari, marched from Gandhi Park, Gyanpur, to the statue of Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. Carrying placards, they chanted slogans in support of Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, social justice, the constitution, and democratic values, undeterred by the weather.

Attempt to Suppress Opposition Voice

The chief guest and Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee Coordinator, Shri Dayashankar Pandey, condemned the alleged casteist incident against Shri Mallikarjun Kharge as "highly reprehensible." He stated that Shri Rahul Gandhi merely sought legal action against the perpetrators but instead faced an FIR himself.

Shri Pandey described this action as a "well-thought-out conspiracy" to suppress the opposition's voice in a democracy. He asserted that the Congress would not be intimidated by such oppressive actions and would continue its struggle to protect the constitution, democracy, and social justice.

Casteist Act an Insult to Constitution and Harmony

Bhadohi District Congress Committee President Shri Wasim Ansari said that Shri Rahul Gandhi had raised his voice for the honour of Congress National President Shri Mallikarjun Kharge and for social justice. He labelled the FIR against Gandhi as a "malicious and politically motivated act of revenge."

Shri Ansari further stated that the alleged "purification ritual" performed by BJP-RSS workers was not only an insult to Shri Kharge but also an affront to the nation's constitution, equality, and the spirit of social harmony. He demanded that FIRs be registered and strict action taken against those who carried out such acts.

The protest march saw the participation of a large number of Congress workers, including former district president Dr. Rajendra Kumar Dubey Rajan, Rajeshwar Dubey, Mushir Iqbal, Triloki Nath Bind, Subuktgin Ansari, Awadhesh Pathak, Shabana Khatoon, Swaleh Ansari, Ramashankar Bind, Suresh Chauhan, Durgesh Tiwari, Ajay Prajapati, Shamshir Ahmed, Manoj Gautam, Rajendra Prasad Maurya, Karan Maurya, Vishnu Ji Upadhyay, Sumit Shukla, Shakti Mishra, Rakesh Pal, Santosh Pal, Vishal Gautam, Banshidhar Shukla, Subedar Gautam, Makoi Lal Bind, and Gulab Dhar Prajapati.
