Congress Protests in Balrampur Against Delhi Lathi Charge, Demands Education Minister's Resignation

Congress workers in Balrampur staged a vociferous protest against the alleged lathi charge on students in the national capital, Delhi, and the purported mistreatment of opposition MPs during the incident. Hundreds of Congress workers gathered late Tuesday night at the statue of Veer Vinay Kayastha in the city. They raised slogans against the central government and questioned its policies.

Former District President Anuj Kumar Singh, addressing the protest, leveled serious accusations against the central government. He stated that the government has plagued students, youth, and women with serious issues like paper leaks, which have, on several occasions, led to loss of life.

Singh held Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan responsible for this situation and demanded his resignation. He asserted that the government has completely failed on critical issues such as inflation and unemployment, losing the public's trust.

Congress United on Resignation Demand

District Coordinator Vinay Kumar Mishra remarked that the government, blinded by arrogance, is attempting to hide its failures, but its facade has been exposed. He clarified that this protest by the Congress will continue until the Education Minister resigns from his post.

Mishra added that the party will continue to hold the government accountable on issues concerning the public and will strongly oppose every wrong policy.

Demands for PM and Home Minister's Resignation Also Raised

During the protest, former State Secretary Chandrashekhar Mishra accused the government of winning elections by relying on EVMs and oppressing the public. He pledged to continue the party's struggle under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Mallikarjun Kharge.

Senior leader Pankaj Gupta furthered the protestors' demands, stating that this protest is not limited to the Education Minister's resignation. He emphasized that their demand is for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to also resign from their positions.

A large number of workers, including Avadhesh Pal Singh, Amirka Prasad, Surendra Yadav, Sameer Singh, Hafizullah Siddiqui, Vishal Kashyap, Ashok Verma, Chandrika Prasad Jaiswal, Ajit Singh, Sudhir Srivastava, and Kadir Ali, participated in the protest and raised slogans in strong terms against the government.
