Congress Gears Up for 2027 Elections in Balrampur

Abdul Hannan, National Secretary of the All India Congress Committee and newly appointed Co-in-charge of the Awadh Zone, addressed a worker conference in Balrampur as part of an organizational tour, focusing on the upcoming 2027 assembly elections.

The conference, held at the MLK PG College Auditorium, saw extensive discussions on party expansion, electoral strategy, and the current government's policies. Hannan emphasized his primary objective as establishing direct communication with party workers, understanding ground-level issues, and strengthening the organization at the booth level.

Congress to Highlight Government Failures

Abdul Hannan declared the upcoming assembly elections as an opportunity to expose the government's alleged failures to the public. He stated that the Congress party would prominently raise issues such as unemployment, rising crime, paper leak incidents, the crisis of youth employment, the dilapidated condition of government schools, and the collection of donations for the Ram Mandir construction.

The Congress aims to win public trust by raising these issues on the streets. The party plans to use the 2027 elections to bring these alleged failures to the forefront of public discourse.

INDIA Alliance and Seat-Sharing Discussions

Addressing a question regarding potential seat-sharing talks between the Samajwadi Party and Congress, Abdul Hannan clarified that the Congress would contest the elections with full strength under the 'INDIA' alliance. He indicated that negotiations are ongoing at the top leadership level, and the Congress expects to receive a respectable number of seats within the alliance to allay any confusion among party workers.

Regarding statements made by MP Imran Masood against the SP, Hannan stated that while they might be his personal views, the party's official stance is that the alliance will contest unitedly. He expressed confidence that the public of Uttar Pradesh is politically aware and will not be swayed by such rhetoric.

Congress Responds to 'Mental Naxal' Remark

Responding sharply to the use of terms like 'mental naxal' in politics, Abdul Hannan stated that individuals advocating for their rights and public issues are often defamed with such labels. He suggested that such accusations point to a mental deviation on the part of those making them.

Hannan also questioned the populist schemes initiated by opposition governments in states like Delhi and Bihar, such as direct fund transfers, noting that such promises are now being followed by conditions and notices. He expressed confidence that the public of Uttar Pradesh is politically astute and will not fall for such rhetoric.

Hundreds of party workers were present during the event, including Sohail Akhtar Ansari (State President, Minority Department), Congress District President Shivlal Kori, former District President Anuj Singh, former MLA Dhirendra Pratap Singh 'Dhiru', and Dr. Pankaj Gupta.
