Congress Organizes Meeting in Rewa, Attacks BJP Over Community Welfare

A meeting was held in Mauganj, Rewa, organized by the District Congress SC Department, to strengthen the party's organizational structure. Bhagwati Prasad Chaudhary, National Coordinator and Madhya Pradesh In-charge for Congress, was the chief guest.

During the event, the Congress launched a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), asserting that the interests of Dalits, Backward Classes (OBCs), and minorities are only safe within the Congress party. Bhagwati Prasad Chaudhary stated that the BJP does not engage in serious discussions regarding the welfare of Dalits. Instead, Dalit leaders are reportedly instructed to merely convey the party's agenda to the community, rather than addressing their specific issues.

The meeting, presided over by Hari Lal Adivasi, President of the District Congress Committee Mauganj, took place at the Congress office in Hanumana. The proceedings were conducted by Shiv Lal Saket, President of the District Congress Committee SC Department.

Congress Confident in Electoral Prospects

Bhagwati Prasad Chaudhary claimed that since his appointment as the Madhya Pradesh In-charge, he has successfully established the Congress SC Department in all districts of the state. He believes this has significantly strengthened the organization at every level across Madhya Pradesh. Chaudhary expressed confidence that this will play a crucial role in forming a Congress government in Madhya Pradesh in the 2027 Assembly elections, with the support of Dalit votes.

Addressing hundreds of attendees from the Dalit community, he further claimed that if Congress succeeds in Madhya Pradesh in 2027, it will pave the way for a Congress-led alliance government in the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. He also criticized the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, suggesting that the public is tired of the 'Bulldozer Baba' government and its decline has begun.

Congress Highlights Policies and Criticizes BJP

Shashi Bhushan Dubey Kanchani, former National Secretary of the National Mazdoor Congress (INTUC) and Rewa District Congress Election Officer (2022), emphasized that the Congress-led UPA First government enacted the Forest Rights Act in 2007-08. This law was intended to protect Dalits and Adivasis occupying land in forest areas from eviction, even for building purposes. However, he expressed regret that the law has not been fully implemented as anticipated.

Virendra Mishra, President of the Hanumana Block Congress Committee, asserted that the Congress party was not defeated in the last assembly elections but was made to lose. Citing the Mauganj assembly constituency as an example, he noted that while the Rajput vote bank is only around ten thousand, the Congress candidate received over 64,000 votes in the previous election. He concluded that the public will settle the score in 2028.

Focus on Student and Minority Issues

Nilesh Kesari Bachcha, District President of the National Students' Union, provided information about the 'Chhatron Ki Goonj' (Students' Echo) event scheduled for September 19th in Indore, anticipating significant student participation.

Ishtiaq Ansari, General Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Minority Department, praised the organizational efforts of the Congress SC Department in Madhya Pradesh. He stated that this undoubtedly increased the inclination of Dalits, OBCs, and minority communities towards Congress in 2028, ensuring a change in government.

Amrit Lal Shukla, a former MLA representative, highlighted the organizational efforts at the booth level by former MLA Banna in the Mauganj assembly constituency, which has strengthened the Congress's position. Mandal President Dibya Kant Shukla and Seeta Sharan Vishwakarma also addressed the gathering, focusing on the party's ideology and preparations for the upcoming elections.

A large number of Congress workers, including Anil Soni, Ganesh Saket, Surendra Gupta, Mahesh Yadav, Shankar Lal Gupta, Bachcha Lal, Bablu Ram, Basant Lal Kol, and Vidya Niwas, were present at the meeting.
