Commission Assures Action on Demand to Include Kudmi Caste in Central List

Central List Inclusion Demand

A delegation from the Yuva Kurmi Kshatriya Samaj Sangathan, Madhya Pradesh, met with Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Chairperson of the National Commission for Backward Classes, in New Delhi on September 25, 2026. They strongly advocated for the inclusion of the Kudmi caste in the Central Backward Classes list.

The Commission Chairperson assured the delegation that this significant matter would be discussed promptly with the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The delegation was led by Dr. Ramkrishna Kusumaria, Chairperson of the Madhya Pradesh Backward Classes Commission, and included prominent officials such as the organization's youth state president Tej Kumar Gaur and state spokesperson Nabeel Patel.

Memorandum Submitted

The delegation presented a memorandum to Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, emphasizing the necessity of including the Kudmi caste in the central list. Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti responded positively to the demands, assuring that she would communicate with the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and submit her report to the Prime Minister.

This assurance is being viewed as a significant relief for the Kudmi community, who have been raising this demand for a considerable time. Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti stated her readiness to take necessary action to facilitate the inclusion of the Kudmi caste in the Central Backward Classes list.

Invitation to Narmadapuram

During the meeting, the organization's officials extended a personal invitation to Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti for the 'Abhishek' ceremony of Maa Narmada in Narmadapuram. They urged her to stay overnight and participate in the 'Jal Abhishek' during the Brahma Muhurta. Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti happily accepted the invitation, sharing her past experiences in Narmadapuram and expressing her reverence for Maa Narmada.

Several regional officials, including Lakshmikant Verma, Suresh Gaur, Naveen Patel, Narmada Prasad Gaur, Dr. Bhagwan Das Sinotiya, Bhimraj Gaur, Ashok Malaiya, Radhelal Dhankare, Hari Prasad Verma, Kanhaiyalal Verma, Sitaram Patel, Kamlesh Jhallare, Satish Jhallare, and Rajesh Sinotiya, were present at the meeting in Delhi. The delegation expressed gratitude for Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti's sensitivity towards the issues faced by the Kudmi community and her assurance of resolution. This meeting is considered a crucial step towards bringing respect to the community.
