Negligence Exposed at Nohata Health Centre During Collector's Surprise Inspection
Acting on complaints regarding medical arrangements at the Nohata Primary Health Centre in Damoh district, District Collector Pratap Narayan Yadav conducted a surprise inspection on Friday. The objective was to assess the centre's functioning and evaluate the state of health services firsthand.
During the inspection, local residents primarily highlighted issues such as doctors not being present at scheduled times and a shortage of essential medicines to the Collector. Villagers reported that patients face significant difficulties in receiving treatment due to the absence of doctors, often having to seek care elsewhere.
Strict Directives Issued for Medical Services Improvement
Engaging directly with the villagers, Collector Yadav also examined the quality of treatment being provided to patients. He issued strict instructions to the concerned physicians to be present at the hospital within the stipulated times and ensure patient treatment. The Collector emphasized that no patient should suffer due to a lack of medical attention.
Ensuring Medicine Availability is Paramount
Collector Pratap Narayan Yadav also gave clear directives to the Chief Medical and Health Officer to ensure an adequate stock of all essential medicines, as per standards, is always available at the primary health centre. He warned that any negligence in this matter would not be tolerated.
The Collector stated that providing better and timely treatment to patients is the highest priority of the health department, and any lapse in this regard will be viewed seriously.
This inspection by the administration highlights the district administration's commitment to strengthening health services in rural areas. Health department officials have also been instructed to regularly monitor arrangements and submit reports on improvements.
