Collector Ruchika Chauhan Celebrates Raksha Bandhan with Elderly and Girls

District Administration Exhibits Social Sensitivity on Raksha Bandhan

On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the Gwalior District Administration set a unique example of social sensitivity. District Collector Mrs. Ruchika Chauhan personally visited the Mangal Dham Old Age Home and tied rakhis on the wrists of the elderly brothers residing there.

During the visit, she also presented gifts and sweets. The rakhi, tied affectionately by the Collector, helped bridge the gap of emotional distance for the elders living away from their families, bringing smiles to their faces. SDM Morar Naresh Chandra Gupta and Tehsildar Kuldeep Dubey also accompanied Collector Chauhan to Mangal Dham. Both officers had rakhis tied by the sisters living in the ashram and conveyed their Raksha Bandhan wishes by presenting them with gifts.

The camaraderie of the officials filled the old age home with familial affection, a sentiment many residents hadn't experienced with loved ones for a long time. The administration's affectionate gesture extended to girls' homes, inspiring other district administration officials to celebrate Raksha Bandhan by visiting various ashrams and girls' protection homes.

Administration Extends Affection to Girls' Homes

Inspired by District Collector Mrs. Ruchika Chauhan's initiative, other officials from the district administration also reached various ashrams and girls' protection homes to celebrate the festival of Raksha Bandhan. Additional Collector Anil Banwariya visited the Maa Kaila Devi Girls' Home located on the JAH campus, where the girls affectionately tied rakhis on him.

He spent time with the girls and presented them with gifts. In a similar vein, Tehsildar Mahesh Kushwaha also received rakhis from the girls of a girls' home and extended his best wishes to them. This initiative by the district administration not only highlights the importance of the Raksha Bandhan festival but also demonstrates that relationships are not solely based on blood ties.

Genuine belonging, respect, empathy, and affection also strengthen relationships.
