Cold Wave to Return in MP After Rain & Dense Fog: Temperature to Drop 2–3°C From January 25; Rain Alert for Northern Districts

Bhopal | The Cliff News

Madhya Pradesh is bracing for another round of sharp cold after a brief spell of rain and heavy fog. According to the IMD Bhopal centre, several districts—including Gwalior and Datia—experienced moderate fog on Thursday, while northern parts of the state are likely to see rainfall on Friday.

Meteorologists say that once the rain clears, icy winds will push temperatures further down.

Temperature to Dip by 2–3°C From January 25

The IMD has forecast a sharp fall in minimum temperatures, predicting a 2–3°C drop across many regions of Madhya Pradesh starting January 25. Night temperatures are expected to slip into lower single digits again in parts of northern MP.

Rain Likely in Northern MP

A western disturbance interacting with local weather systems is likely to bring rain to the northern belt of the state. Light to moderate showers are expected on Friday, especially in:

Gwalior

Datia

Morena

Bhind

Sheopur

After the rainfall, cold winds blowing from North India will tighten their grip, intensifying winter conditions across MP.

Context: North India Already Under Severe Cold Wave

The IMD has already issued warnings for parts of North-West India and Uttar Pradesh due to a strong western disturbance. This system is now influencing the weather pattern over Madhya Pradesh as well.
