CM Yogi Gifts Free Bus Travel to Over 60 Women

'Lokmata Ahilyabai Matri Shakti Yatra' Scheme Launched

The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a significant scheme to honor and facilitate mothers. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath flagged off the 'Lokmata Ahilyabai Matri Shakti Yatra' scheme from Lucknow, dedicating it to the nation. This initiative will provide free bus travel to women in the state aged 60 years and above.

This move is considered a major step towards honoring senior citizens and improving their mobility. A district-level program was also organized at the Collectorate Auditorium in Balrampur district to mark the launch of this ambitious scheme. The Chief Minister's address was broadcast live, attended by public representatives, officials, and a large number of women.

During the event, the Chief Minister highlighted the state government's commitment to the welfare, safety, self-reliance, and convenience of women and girls, and shared information about various public welfare schemes for women.

Raksha Bandhan Gift: Free Travel for Sisters and Daughters

The state government has presented a special gift to women on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan. From 6 AM on August 27, 2026, to 12 AM on August 29, 2026, mothers, sisters, and daughters will be provided with free travel on state buses, including an accompanying person.

This step will make it easier for sisters and daughters to visit their brothers and relatives, making the festival even more joyous. At the district-level program, sarees and sweets were distributed to women as a gesture of respect, seen as a Raksha Bandhan gift.

Public representatives and officials extended Raksha Bandhan greetings to the women present and presented them with gifts. The main objective of the program was to express the government's respect for 'Matri Shakti' (mother power) and connect them with the efforts being made for their welfare.

Present at the occasion were District Magistrate Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain, Chairman of Adarsh Nagar Palika Parishad Balrampur Dr. Dhirendra Pratap Singh 'Dheeru', representative of MLA Sadar Brajendra Tiwari, ARM Roadways, and other distinguished public representatives and concerned officials, who welcomed this initiative.
