CM performs Kanya Pujan, calls women's safety and self-reliance the foundation of Ram Rajya
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath celebrated Navratri by inaugurating educational initiatives and emphasizing women's empowerment for a developed India.

CM Participates in Navratri Celebrations, Launches 'Shiksha Ki Udaan' Initiative
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated in a grand ceremony at the Patheshwari Devipatan Temple complex in Balrampur on the first day of Shardiya Navratri and International Girl Child Day, October 11, 2026. On this occasion, he launched the 'Shiksha Ki Udaan' initiative, under which study tables, blessings letters, and reading materials were distributed to students.
In his address, the Chief Minister emphasized that respecting, protecting, and empowering women is the true foundation for establishing 'Ram Rajya'. He further stated that the resolve for a developed India can only be realized when every woman in society is equipped with opportunities for self-reliance.
Honoring Feminine Divinity and Educational Progress
The Chief Minister formally performed the Kanya Pujan of nine girls, who were embodiments of the divine goddess, and honored them by adorning them with chunris. He recalled the ancient Indian tradition of considering girls as forms of the goddess and stated that providing education and equal opportunities to daughters is essential for the progress of any society.
Referencing the situation before 2017, the Chief Minister noted that at that time, every fifth girl had to discontinue her studies due to a lack of basic facilities in government schools. In contrast, the current government, through 'Operation Kayakalp', has ensured a widespread expansion of basic facilities in schools, including modern amenities like toilets, clean drinking water, furniture, and smart classes.
Currently, the government is providing essential materials such as uniforms, bags, books, and footwear free of cost to 1.60 crore children in the state. The 'Shiksha Ki Udaan' initiative aims to boost children's enthusiasm for education and encourage them towards higher studies.
'Shiksha Ki Udaan' Boosts Student Motivation
Under the 'Shiksha Ki Udaan' initiative, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath provided reading materials to twelve students. Among those who received support were Hiralal, Archana Saini, Kajal, Prabhu Jaiswal, and Nisba. He encouraged the children to remain disciplined and set ambitious goals.
Recognizing Young Talent in Sports
The Chief Minister also honored young girls who excelled in sports, highlighting the increasing participation and talent of daughters in sports. Honored athletes included Kanchan, who secured first place in the Prayagraj Athletics competition, Prachi Jain and Sandhya Yadav for winning medals in Judo, and emerging Taekwondo players Palak Shukla and Anaya Gupta. The Chief Minister extended best wishes for their future and encouraged them for continuous practice.
Government Schemes for Economic Empowerment
The Chief Minister also shed light on various government schemes aimed at promoting the economic empowerment of women. He explained that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Chief Minister Awas Yojana, ownership of houses is being prioritized for women, providing them with financial security and respect. Under the Ujjwala Yojana, gas connections have also been prioritized for female members, ensuring they can live a safer and more convenient life.
He also stated that 1.10 crore families in the state are receiving an annual financial assistance of ₹12,000 through various pension schemes. This scheme provides financial support to vulnerable and elderly citizens in society, enabling them to meet their basic needs. These government efforts demonstrate a commitment to extending the benefits of development to the last person in society.
Modern Agricultural Techniques and Farmers' Fair Inaugurated
In the second phase of the program, the Chief Minister inaugurated a grand farmers' fair and departmental exhibition. The objective of this fair was to inform farmers about modern agricultural machinery, techniques, and government schemes. The Chief Minister reviewed exhibitions set up by the Agriculture, Horticulture, and Sericulture departments and obtained information from concerned officials regarding the implementation of schemes.
He provided modern agricultural equipment to farmers and stated that the completion of the Saryu Canal Project has significantly improved irrigation facilities in the region, which is expected to boost farmers' productivity. Under the 'Custom Hiring Center' scheme, keys to modern agricultural equipment were handed over to Jagnarayan and Motilal Yadav. This scheme will enable small and marginal farmers to benefit from modern agricultural equipment, promoting innovation and reducing costs in the agricultural sector.
Concluding Remarks on Inclusive Development
Notable dignitaries present at this important occasion included Mahant Mithlesh Nath of Devipatan Temple, Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal, District Magistrate Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain, and other esteemed public representatives. The Chief Minister concluded his address with the thought that the government's primary objective is to deliver the benefits of development to the last person in society, without any discrimination. Ensuring equal opportunities for all citizens, especially women and farmers, and enabling them to be empowered and self-reliant is the state government's highest priority. This holistic development is a significant step towards realizing the vision of 'Ram Rajya'.
