Bhopal: With temperatures dropping sharply over the past few days, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav carried out a late-night surprise inspection of a night shelter (Rain Basera) in Bhopal to review arrangements for the homeless.
The Chief Minister interacted with inmates, took stock of facilities, and directed municipal and district officials to ensure that no one faces inconvenience during the cold wave. He served tea to the inmates and distributed new blankets.
Earlier, Yadav also distributed blankets to destitute and elderly people near Shaurya Dwar at Lal Parade Ground and Kali Temple, Talaiya.
Inmates expressed satisfaction over the arrangements, citing adequate food, sleeping space and heaters at the shelter. Many said they were staying overnight while travelling.
One inmate, Subodh Joseph, complained of severe waist pain. The Chief Minister immediately instructed the collector and municipal commissioner to arrange medical treatment and extend all possible assistance.
