Hygiene Awareness Program Held in Guna Schools

Under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' (Cleanliness is Service) Campaign 2026, the Guna Municipality hosted a special awareness program at Imperial World Convent School in Budhe Balaji. The primary aim was to inspire schoolchildren on the significance of cleanliness and adopting good daily habits to prevent diseases.

This initiative is part of the ongoing nationwide cleanliness campaign, encouraging active citizen participation. The Chief Municipal Officer (CMO), Shailesh Awasthi, familiarized students with various aspects of hygiene during the session. He specifically educated them on the intricacies of waste management.

Waste Management and Personal Hygiene Emphasized

CMO Awasthi detailed the process of segregating dry and wet waste into separate bins at home. He highlighted how waste classification simplifies recycling and reduces the burden on landfills. Furthermore, he stressed the importance of personal hygiene, such as regular handwashing, which plays a crucial role in preventing the spread of infectious diseases.

Through this initiative, the municipality aims to spread awareness about cleanliness within households and surrounding areas via children, fostering a healthier environment. Students actively participated in the waste segregation and art-based awareness program, enthusiastically creating Rangoli and various artworks to effectively convey the message of cleanliness.

Children Express Commitment to a Clean Environment

The children inscribed the slogan 'Clean India, Healthy India' into their artwork, demonstrating their creativity and commitment to the environment. They visually represented the importance of cleanliness through Rangoli, making the message more engaging and memorable. These artworks also incorporated other vital environmental issues like reducing plastic usage, water conservation, and tree plantation.

The students collectively pledged to build a 'Clean Guna' and 'Healthy Guna'. This was an effort to instill a sense of responsibility within them. CMO Awasthi encouraged the children to adopt this pledge in their daily lives and inspire their families and friends.

Promoting Community Participation in Cleanliness

He explained how small habits can lead to significant positive change. This effort is proving to be a crucial step in promoting public participation in cleanliness within the city. Such programs not only educate children but also prepare them as responsible future citizens.

With the support of organizations like Siddhivinayak Waste Management Services, this campaign also promotes the adoption of modern techniques in waste management. At the end of the program, the school management expressed gratitude to the municipality team and members of Siddhivinayak Waste Management Services for the informative event. The school principal stated that such programs should be an integral part of the school curriculum.
